SCBWI

What’s this “Squi-bee” I keep hearing about? It’s SCBWI, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Their page is full of lots of wonderful resources. Check them out!

Paulina Springs Books

Paulina Springs Books has maintained the perfect blend of the independent bookstore and the larger chains. I can order any book from them and it will be shipped to my home or be ready for pick-up within days. When I walk in, the person behind the desk or in the book aisle arranging new releases knows me by name. Paulina Springs is located in Sisters and Redmond, Oregon.

“Rare and Collectible” Maureen McQuerry reading The Telling Stone at Third Place Books

Maureen McQuerry reading from her newest book, The Telling Stone, at Queen Anne Book Company, Seattle.

Update: After readings at Third Place Books and Queen Anne Book Company this weekend, Maureen is heading home. Hopefully she’ll be able to take some time to let her shoulder heal!

Thanks for the pictures, Dennis McQuerry!

Wordherder author Maureen McQuerry is heading to Seattle for two readings in celebration of the release of her latest book, The Telling Stone from Time Out of Time. She’ll be at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park tonight, June 6, at 6:30 pm and at Queen Anne Book Company tomorrow, June 7 at 2:00 pm.  What’s really remarkable is that Maureen is doing the events, even though she *broke her shoulder* in a bicycle accident on Thursday. So, get out and see her, buy the book, enjoy the pipes and the scavenger hunt at QAB, but maybe …. no hugs?
